Consists of correspondence and corporate and social records that document Francis Crowninshield's activities in Boca Grande, Fl. and Marblehead, Ma. Correspondents include: William Marshall Bullitt, Boca Grande Corporation, Boca Grande Mercantile Company, and Chauncey Nash. Of particular interest is a letter to Crowninshield from Franz Preuschen of Germany discussing America's possible entry into World War I. Also of note is a catalog of the Francis Boardman Crowninshield Exhibition at the Ferargil Galleries in New York City in 1944.

Francis Boardman Crowninshield was born in New York on April 22, 1869. He attended St. Paul's School in Concord, N.H. and graduated from Harvard University in 1891.
